Art Guidelines

  • We accept all kinds of files of your design. (.TIF .BMP .GIF .JPG .PSD .EPS .PNG .PSP .PDF)
  • All files must be at least 200 dpi and at the size you want it printed on the apparel.
  • If you send us graphics pulled from the web at screen resolution (72 dpi) you will incur art charges in the amount of $30/hour to make the graphics usable for decoration.

Customer Provided Artwork
By submitting artwork to Kansas Ink & Thread to be reproduced we assume:
You represent and warrant to Kansas Ink & Thread that you have right to use, copy and distribute each copyright, trademark, service mark, trade name, logo, statement, graphic, artwork, name, photograph, portrait, picture or illusion of any person or any other intellectual property in the way it is to be printed on or otherwise applied to the products ordered by you from Kansas Ink & Thread or it’s vendors. You warrant that in obtaining the material and submitting it to Kansas Ink & Thread for reproduction, you have not violated the property rights of any third party. You agree to indemnify and hold Kansas Ink & Thread and its owners, officers, employees and agents harmless from and against any suit, demand, claim, loss, liability, damage or expense made against Kansas Ink & Thread by reason of breach of this warranty, and you agree to pay any judgment or settlement offer resulting from any suit, demand, or claim and to pay any attorney’s fees incurred by Kansas Ink & Thread in defending against any such suit, demand or claim.
The burden of determining that any material is not protected by trademark, service mark, copyright or other proprietary right rests with you. You are solely responsible for obtaining proper permissions and licenses, except as may be permitted by copyright law, from third parties whose rights may be violated or infringed by the use of any material protected by trademark, service mark, copyright or other proprietary right. A customer may not use any logo or other graphic material in a manner which may infringe on copyright, trademark, service mark or other proprietary mark. A customer also may not use any logo or trademark in a vulgar, libelous, disparaging or otherwise unlawful manner. We assume no responsibility for damages or any wrong doing that the customer may cause using a logo, trademark or copyrighted items. You agree to indemnify and hold Kansas Ink & Thread harmless from and against any suit, demand, claim, loss, liability, damage or expense made against or incurred by Kansas Ink & Thread by reason of the unauthorized, improper, or illegal use of any logo or trademark or copyright that is printed on or otherwise applied to promotional merchandise ordered or purchased by the customer through Kansas Ink & Thread.
The Customer retains all rights to artwork submitted for decoration through Kansas Ink & Thread. All films, screens, plates, files, etc with customer’s artwork will only be used for the creation of decorated products authorized by the customer. Kansas Ink & Thread agrees not to share the customers ideas or designs with any other person or entity not employed with or contracted by Kansas Ink & Thread for the use of supplying you a quote or producing your order.

Artwork Provided by Kansas Ink & Thread
Artwork provided by Kansas Ink & Thread or contracted designers, are the property of Kansas Ink & Thread or the designer who created the artwork. The license for the created artwork is limited to (whether a creation fee was charged or not) the distribution or selling of the products decorated and the limited representation of the customer through said products. No exclusive rights to the art created by Kansas Ink & Thread or designers contracted through Kansas Ink & Thread is given. If you wish to purchase full rights to artwork for customer’s organization identification or advertisement beyond the scope of the products ordered from Kansas Ink & Thread with artwork, further paperwork and compensation will apply.

Art Set Up Fees
Art set up fees, also known as conversion or digitizing fees, are incurred when an order’s artwork will require more than a few minutes of work to prepare it for production.

Ownership of Production Artwork
All films, screens, plates, cut files, digitized embroidery files, or other files, etc of customer’s artwork that Kansas Ink & Thread creates for the production of products are owned by Kansas Ink & Thread. These files are used only for the sole purpose of producing the desired products ordered and purchased by the customer. If the case arises that the customer wants to have copies of the production files/films/plates, the customer can purchase the files from Kansas Ink & Thread.

Artwork in bad taste
Kansas Ink & Thread reserves the right to refuse the production of any order if we deem the artwork in bad taste. This includes, but is not limited to, racially motivated or derogatory messages / artwork, negative , offensive, profane, or anything involving drugs, alcohol or anything deemed unlawful involving a school, official office or company.
Kansas Ink & Thread Reserves the right to refuse service for anything without giving reason.
